Nina on the Miami River

After six years of absence, I return to this blog. To this photo of Nina. Her marriage was soon to end. The man I thought I loved at the time, became violent after we moved to the mountains and Nina helped me find a way out, find a way back to Miami. She mentioned shooting stars, she gave me comfort. Her husband at the time was a boat captain. This cruise along the Miami River and Biscayne Bay in an old tuna fishing boat was the one and only time we sailed together. Shortly after, Nina filed for a divorce. Who knows what became of her ex-husband. But this one snapshot. This one memory. Alan had just gifted me a Cannon camera.
